Halevő madaraink közül kétségkívül a kormorán fejlesztette ki a leghatékonyabb halásztechnikát. Szerencsétlenségére ennek köszönheti, hogy Magyarországon intenzíven vadásszák, aminek következtében az egyik legfélénkebb madár a halastavainkon. Ha valaki a tó partján sétál, akkor ezek a madarak már 400-500 méterről is felrepülnek. Többéves kísérletezés eredményeképpen ezt a felvételt kézben tartott kamerával készítettem, egy köbméteres víz alatti lesből. A képen látható összes madár fél méternél közelebb volt hozzám.

Without doubt, among our fish-eating birds, cormorants have developed the most effective fishing technique. To their misfortune for this reason they are intensively hunted in Hungary, which makes them one of the most timid birds on our fishponds. When someone walks along the shores of a lake, these birds take off 400-500 meters away. As a result of years of experimentation, I took this photograph with a hand-held camera from a cubic meter underwater hideaway. All the birds in this picture were less than half a meter from me.
