A legtöbb természetfotót a kép megálmodása, gondos tervezés előzi meg. Ritka ajándék azonban, amikor a természet magától kínál fel egy témát. Ilyen alkalommal készült ez a kép is. A frissen leesett hó híre felcsábított a Bükk hegység legmagasabb pontjára. Ezerszer megtettem már ugyanezt a kört, de most valahogy megláttam ezt a részletet. Nem tudom, máskor is így nézett-e ki, és elsiklottam felette, vagy csak most, egy rövid időre alakult ilyenné. A távoli fenyőerdő közepén egy részt tarra vágtak, a maradék fák tűlevelein pedig megült a frissen hullott hó, amely így érdekes kontrasztot adott a fehér hóval és a felkopaszodott fekete fatörzsekkel.

Most nature photographs are preceded by envisioning the image and careful planning. It is a rare gift, however, when nature itself presents the subject. This picture was taken at such a time. News of freshly fallen snow enticed me to the highest peak of the Bükk mountains. I have made this journey a thousand times but somehow, it was now I noticed this detail. I don’t know if it looked the same at other times and I skipped over it or if it was only now that it briefly took this form. In the center of the distant pine forest a secrtion was cut down bare, the freshly fallen snow settled on the pine needles of the remaining trees and presented an interesting contrast between the white snow and the bald black tree trunks.
