2020 decemberében Királyrétről indulva, hatalmas sár borította az erdei utakat. Ahogy haladtunk felfelé a Nagy-hideg-hegyre, 700 méter felett csodálatos átalakulásnak lehettünk tanúi. A földes-feketés sarat fagy vátlotta fel, majd még magasabban zúzmara öltöztette a tájat hófehér mennyasszonyi ruhába. Fent a hegytetőn már gyönyörű téli táj fogadott, amely amúgy korántsem volt veszélytelen, mivel a fák vékonyabb, gyengébb ágai rendszeresen szakadtak le a rájuk rakódott hó és jég súlya alatt.

In December 2020, starting from Királyrét, the forest roads were covered with mud. As we made our way up to the Nagy-hideg mountain, above 700 meters, we witnessed an incredible transformation. The earthy-black soil was covered by frost, and then, even higher up, the snow-white bridal dress of gruel covered the landscape. At the top of the mountain, the winter landscape was beautiful, but not without danger, as the thinner, weaker branches of the trees regularly snapped under the weight of the snow and ice that had fallen on them.
