Hasonló pillanatot már többször megfigyeltem messziről, távcsővel, de nagyon szerettem volna fotón is megörökíteni. Áprilisban kiraktam a partra egy lessátrat, oda ahol a nyári ludak (Anser anser) a fiókáikat vezették ki füvet csipegetni, és nagy izgalommal vártam az esőt. Mikor végre egyszer az esőcseppek kopogására ébredtem, már siettem is kifelé, hogy időben elfoglaljam a leshelyemet, még mielőtt a libák megérkeznek. Minden az elképzelt forgatókönyv szerint alakult. A libák megjöttek, egy darabig csipegettek, majd amikor erősödni kezdett az eső, a tojó a szárnyai alá gyűjtötte a fiókákat. Ahogy csillapodott az eső, a legtürelmetlenebb fióka kidugta a fejét a melengető tollak közül, hogy tájékozódjon az időjárási helyzetről.

I have observed a similar moment several times from a distance with binoculars, but I wanted to capture it in a photo. In April, I put a mooring net on the beach, where the greylag gooses (Anser anser) were leading their chicks out to peck grass, and I was waiting for the rain with great excitement. When I finally woke up to the sound of raindrops, I hurried outside to get to my hiding place before the geese arrived. Everything went according to the scenario I had imagined. The geese came, chirped for a while, and then when the rain started to pick up, the hen gathered the chicks under her wings. As the rain eased, the most impatient chick poked its head out of the warming feathers to get an update on the weather.
