Több száz alkalommal fotóztam felrepülő kormoránokat, ám valamiért csak ebben a pillanatban voltak olyan fények, olyan háttér, és csak ekkor szállt megfelelő irányba, elegendően közel a madár, hogy létrejöhessen ez a látványvilág. Hasonló jelenet több ezer felvétel között sem akadt. A fotográfiai teljesítmény számomra azért emlékezetes, mert manuális fókuszú, 1,4-es fényerejű Zeiss Objektív / Lensvel készült a felvétel, nyitott blendén, amivel szinte esélytelenül kicsi a mélységélesség.

I have photographed cormorants taking off hundreds of times but for some reason it was just this particular moment that I had the light, background, and the bird flying in the proper direction, close enough to create this visual impression. Among thousands of photographs I have taken I have never found a similar scene. The photographic feat is memorable for me because the image was taken with a manual focus f=1.4 Zeiss lens, open aperture, with which the chance for a sharp depth of field is small.
