On the day this photo was taken, the photographer walked 30 kilometres through the harsh, mountainous environment of the Gyergyó snowfields during the peak of the deer rutting season. It was there that the red deer stag in the picture appeared before him. For a brief moment, they locked eyes, as the clicking of the DSLR camera immediately drew the stag's attention.
