A stunning mass of Danube mayflies comes alive above the Ipoly River. Having tracked these insects for decades, the photographer recorded this as the largest swarm ever observed in the area. From the unique perspective of a fisheye lens, the multitude of insects emerging from the water creates the impression of a softly glowing blue mayfly planet.
