Előre megterveztem ezt a teliholdas képet, amihez kellett egy jókora adag szerencse is. Először is utánanéztem a telihold kelte és nyugta pontos szögének és idejének. Ezek alapján kiderült, hogy összesen legfeljebb két este és két reggel lesz esélyem ilyen képeket készíteni. Olyan helyeket kerestem, ahol volt esélyem állatokat találni magasabb ponton, mint az autóm, a háttérben pedig csak az ég, s mindez a holdhoz képest megfelelő irányban. Az első három alkalommal teljesen felhős volt az ég, jóllehet a kiválasztott helyek egyikén még vízilovat is láttam. Az utolsó hajnalon azonban gyönyörű tiszta idő volt, csak éppen állatokat nem láttunk sehol. Jobb híján megálltunk az egyik helynél, bízva a szerencsében. Az utolsó utáni pillanatban, amikor már majdnem tovább indultunk, megjelent egy kafferbivaly sziluettje! Óvatosan fotózni kezdtem, nehogy elriasszam, miközben folyamatosan arrébb kellett sétálnom, ahogyan a bivaly is haladt. Óriási szerencsém volt, hogy a párperces jelenet közben még egy varacskos disznó is átszaladt a képen. Másnap elmeséltem a jelenetet a rezervátum tulajdonosának, aki nevetve csak annyit mondott, hogy pontosan ott, ahol gyalogoltam a magas fűben ezért a képért, pár hete egy 5 méteres pitont láttak...

I planned this Full Moon photograph ahead, which also required a good bit of luck. First, I checked the exact angle and time of the rise and setting of the Full Moon. Based on this information it turned out I would have the opportunity to take such a picture two nights and two mornings, at the most. I looked for locations where I had the chance to find animals on higher ground than my car, only the sky in the background, and all this in the right direction relative to the Moon. On the first three occasions the sky was completely cloudy, although I even saw a hippo at one of the selected locations. The last dawn, the weather was amazingly clear, except we did not see animals anywhere. For want of a better alternative, we stopped at one of the spots, trusting in our luck. After the last moment, as we were almost about to leave, the silhouette of an African buffalo appeared! I started to take pictures carefully so as not to alarm it, while having to walk continuously along with the movement of the African buffalo. I had enormous luck in the few minutes during the scene in that even a warthog ran across the picture. I related the story to the owner of the reservation the following day; he merely laughingly said that in exactly the same spot where I had been walking in the tall grass to take this picture they had seen a five-meter python a few weeks ago.
