Egy téli reggelen madarászni indultunk a Kőszegi-hegységbe. A szürke, ködszitálós idő nem sok reménnyel kecsegtetett, de az Óház-kilátót elérve már ragyogó napsütésben volt részünk. Keresztcsőrűek, fakopáncsok és hollók társaságában csodáltuk a Kárpát-medence időjárását ilyenkor gyakran jellemző hidegpárna következtében kialakult ködtakaró lassú hullámzását. A ködtenger egyhangúságát csak a közeli szélerőművek kerekei törték meg.

One winter morning we started off to go birdwatching in the Kőszeg mountains. The gray misty weather did not promise much hope but by the time we reached the Óház lookout point we found bright sunshine. We marveled at the weather pattern of the Carpathian Basin, the slow undulation of fog cover that develops at such times as a result of a characteristic cold layer, in the company of red crossbills, woodpeckers and ravens. The monotony of the sea of fog was only broken by the wheels of the nearby wind power turbines.
