A kép készítése előtt a fotós egy nyitott szafariautóban, a szűnni nem akaró esőtől elől menekülve próbált mihamarabb visszajutni a szállására. A cikázó villámok, egymás után sorra kigyúló fák vészterhes pillanatait túlélve, már átmelegedve, biztonságos helyről fotózta az elvonuló vihar hatalmas becsapódásait.

Before this shot was taken, the photographer, in an open safari car, was trying to get back to her accommodation as quickly as possible to escape the relentless rain. After surviving the menacing moments of zigzagging lightning and trees lighting up one after another, she was able to photograph the huge strikes of the receding storm from a warm, safe place.
