A gyergyói Csíky-kert erdejében találtam egy helyet, ahol az erdei vöröshangyák gyönyörű mohaszőnyegen közlekednek. Többször is visszalátogattam ide, megvárva a megfelelő pillanatot, hogy sikerüljön lefényképeznem, ahogyan zsákmánnyal térnek vissza a boly irányába. Egyik alkalommal megláttam, ahogyan az egyik példány egy fülbemászó potrohát cipeli. A meleg nem könnyítette meg a fotózást, mert ilyenkor még gyorsabban mozognak a hangyák, ezért alig néhány másodperc állt a rendelkezésemre, hogy sikerüljön a felvétel. A fotót fordított objektívvel készítettem. A belső villanó használatához, házilag gyártottam vakudiffúzort, a rekesz manuális irányításához pedig egy fésű fogát használtam fel. A felvétel kézből készült.

I found a place in the Csíky Garden arboretum at Gyergyó, [Transylvania] where woodland red ants traverse over beautiful moss carpets. I returned to this spot many times, waiting for the appropriate moment to successfully photograph them with their prey on their way to their anthill. On one occasion I saw a subject lugging an earwig. Heat does not make photographing any easier because the ants move even faster, I only had a few seconds for the shot. I took the photograph with a reverse lens. I fabricated a home-made flash diffuser for the internal flash, and used the tooth of a comb to manually control the aperture. The photo was taken with camera hand held.
