A fotós a táj vad szépségét és az óceán erejét akarta visszaadni egy képben. A megvalósításhoz két kedvelt kompozíciós trükkjét is bevetette: a panoráma felső része egy hosszabb záridővel készült, amely elmosta az érkező zivatar vonulását, míg az előtér egy rövidebb expozíció eredménye, amely plasztikusan visszaadta a hullámok visszavonulása nyomán kirajzolódó finom vonalakat.

The photographer wanted to capture the wild beauty of the landscape and the power of the ocean in one image. He used two of his favourite compositional tricks to achieve this: the upper part of the panorama was taken with a longer shutter speed, which blurred the movement of the approaching storm, while the foreground is the result of a shorter exposure, which plastically rendered the delicate lines outlined by the receding waves.
