The photographer was lured to the Icelandic location of the shot by the weather forecast. The weather turned out as expected, with the light of the rising Sun softly illuminating the high-altitude clouds. The eight-minute exposure allowed the fine details of the minimalist composition to show: light, shadow, and space meeting in a simple, yet stunning, harmony.
