Tavaly késő ősszel alkalmam volt néhány napra Toszkánába látogatni. A szemem előtt hajnali vagy alkonyi fényben tündöklő köd fedte dombok ámbrándja lebegett, mint izgalmas fotótéma. A számomra megszokott északi tempóhoz képest viszont Olaszországban villámgyorsan kel fel a Nap, így a napjaim további időszakára is kellett keresnem alkalmas fotótémát. Így találtam rá erre a cipruscsoportra is, ami a nyugvó Nap által megvilágított, elnyúló árnyékú halmokkal felkeltette az érdeklődésemet. Mivel a Nappal ellentétben a felhők igen lassan mozogtak a toszkán táj felett, csak második alkalommal sikerült az elképzelésemnek valamelyest megfelelő égbolttal összepárosítanom a kompozíciót. Eleve fekete-fehér végeredményben gondolkodtam, ezért Achromatic hátlapot helyeztem a kamerára. Ahhoz, hogy a tónusátmenetek az elképzelésemnek megfelelően alakuljanak - az árnyékok kemények legyenek, valamint a facsoport emelkedjen ki a tájból - infraszűrőt alkalmaztam. A végső panoráma három kép összeillesztésével készült.

I had the opportunity to visit Tuscany for a few days in late autumn last year. I could see the awe-inspiring hills covered in mist at dawn or dusk, a fascinating subject for photographs. But the sun rises in Italy at a lightning pace compared to my usual northern rate, so I had to find a suitable topic for the rest of my day. That's how I found this group of cypresses, which caught my eye with its long, shadowy mounds lit by the setting sun. Since, unlike the sun, the clouds moved very slowly over the Tuscan landscape, it was only on the second occasion that I matched the composition with a sky somewhat suited to my vision. I was thinking of a black-and-white result, so I put an Achromatic backing on the camera. I used an infrared filter to get the tonal transitions just as I wanted them - the shadows were hard, and the group of trees stood out from the landscape. The final panorama was created by stitching three images together.
